For the past three years, Russell has been improving the lives of many dedicated individuals at the 12th Street Gym. He is selective about the clients he accepts into his training program and tries to help his clients understand that they are primarily responsible for achieving their own results, and that it takes an enormous amount of discipline and determination. But Russell's techniques assist by making workouts fun, challenging, and a bit different each time.

Russell holds a bachelor's degree in Organizational Communication from Slippery Rock University, in Pennsylvania. He continued on for a master's degree in Student Development at Bowling Green State University. He continued gaining higher levels responsibility within the college setting until he was in his last position as Director of Student Life & Athletics. A background different than most trainers but he found a passion for fitness as the Director of Athletics and when he reached 30, he made it a personal goal to lead a healthier life and soon shed 25 pounds and has continued leading a more active healthier life.

He is certified by the the American Aerobic Association International/ International Sports Medicine Association and is participating in ongoing continuing education through many avenues.
